Our selection of Cantera stone is quarried from the interior of Old Mexico . . . hand-mined and hand-carved. The original containers and filters, or “filtros”, have been used on ranches and homesteads of Old Mexico for hundreds of years. Cantera stone is a heavy, porous rock which provides fresh, clean drinking water through its natural drainage and filtration system. Because of its unique texture and composition, it ages gracefully as it is dwells in the changes of the atmosphere out-of-doors . . . and will take on the colors of nature depending on where the piece of Cantera sits within its environment.
